Announcing 2020 Young Artists Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner

Congratulations to Lily Primus!  Lily Primus is a 17-year-old harpist from Denver, Colorado.  She has been a student of Mary Kay Waddington, founder of the Suzuki Harp School, since she was five years old.  In the summer of 2019, she was one of four members of the Young Artists Harp Program at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.  She was a prizewinner of the American Harp Society National Competitions in 2015, 2017, and 2019 and the Rocky Ridge Junior Artists Seminar Concerto Competition in 2016.  Lily was the inagural recipient of the Siochi Scholarship to attend the Young Artists Harp Seminar (YAHS) in 2018, the first ever full scholarship offered by the festival.  She was the first prize winner of the Concerto Competition at YAHS in 2018.  Lily was the winner of the Overall Outstanding Junior Division Prize in the 2016 auditions for the Young Musicians of Colorado Competition (YMF), and was on the YMF roster from 2016 to 2018.  She has also been a frequent performer with the Colorado Chamber Players and at Colorado Public Radio.  Lily performed in the Western States Honor Orchestra from 2016 to 2018, and the Colorado All-State Orchestra from 2018 to 2019.  She has been Co-Principal and Principal Harp of the Denver Young Artists Orchestra since 2016, and is a senior orchestra major at the Denver School of the Arts.  Lily is the daughter of two professional musicians, Paul Primus (Colorado Symphony) and Barbara Hamilton (Colorado Chamber Players).
