What We Do

Musician Leadership

Musician Leadership

We believe in the power of education and in peer support.  These programs allow participants in our organization to take leadership roles and support their peers.

Peer Mentor Program

The Peer Mentor Program is an important component of the String Ensemble curriculum. It was designed to provide DYAO’s senior musicians the opportunity to mentor younger students in the String Ensemble. Peer Mentors work as sectional coaches to provide expanded training and educational opportunities to our developing young musicians.

College Fellowship Program

Through a separate audition and interview process, DYAO identifies a small number of college fellows who play in the Young Artists Orchestra (YAO), providing leadership and mentoring in their sections. Fellows also receive behind the scenes training and gain valuable leadership experience.

If you are interested in learning more about these programs or being considered for an opportunity, email info@dyao.org.
