Jennifer Poole, Conservatory Orchestra, Strings Assistant

Jennifer Poole is currently in her 18th year as Director of Orchestras at Cherry Creek High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wheaton College and Master of Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In addition to her role at Cherry Creek High School, Ms. Poole has been a guest conductor and adjudicator for the DYAO concerto competitions, Adams 12 District Festival, Douglas County Middle School Honors Orchestra Festival, and Jefferson County High School Honors Orchestra Festival. In addition, she has collaborated with various collegiate and community orchestras, including St. Olaf Symphony Orchestra, the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra, and Boulder High School. Ms. Poole’s orchestras have consistently received superior ratings at various festivals throughout the state and country. In 2020, the Cherry Creek High School Chamber Orchestra was 1 of only 12 orchestras in the country selected to perform at the National Orchestra Festival in Orlando, Florida where they placed 6th in the nation. Ms. Poole is currently the principal violist for the Parker Symphony and was principal violist for ten years with the St. Mary’s Chamber Orchestra, a Baroque ensemble that performed on replicas of 18th century Baroque instruments. In addition, she has been playing viola with the Metropolitan String Quartet for over eighteen years. In her spare time, she loves to read and spend time with her family in the mountains.
