The 2021 String Ensemble Winner...Leonardo Kim!

Our newest String Ensemble Concerto Winner is Leonardo Kim!

Leonardo is a 10 year-old 5th grader at Northridge Elementary in Highlands Ranch. He started the violin at the age of eight and currently studies with Dr. Emily Ondracek-Peterson and Dr. Erik Peterson. Previously, Leonardo studied with Dr. Luyan Gao. Leonardo won 3rd place in Upper Elementary category of the Colorado State Music Teacher’s Association Rising Stars Festival in 2021.

This year is the first season with DYAO and he stated "I love playing music with my friends. DYAO is also very fun to be a part of!"

When not playing the violin, Leonardo enjoys playing chess, Minecraft or Roblox, building Legos and reading books.
