2021 Senior Spotlight - Annabella Brotherston

Let's get brassy today and celebrate trumpeter Annabella Brotherston.

Annabella is a Senior from Arapahoe County and a trumpeter with the Young Artists Orchestra. She's been a member of DYAO for 4 seasons, spending 2 years in Conservatory Orchestra and the last 2 years with the Young Artists Orchestra. Upon graduating, Annabella plans to attend the University of Denver Lamont School of Music where she plans to double major in Music Performance and Computer Science.

When asked what DYAO has meant to her, she responded: "I get to go on great adventures - who could say no? I've played on the biggest stages I've ever seen and met some people whose talent still shocks me. The staff makes everyone feel like big music stars the way they make sure you have everything you need. They plan all the rehearsals down to the minute and piece, book hotels and planes for you, send performance opportunities to your email, make flyers for the orchestra, get professionals to record your concerts, and take pictures. They spare no diligence. Nothing compares to having those hours spent in a practice room turn into something that people will value so much that they would also put their everything into it."

Go, Annabella!
