Lee Anderson, Conductor, Allegro Strings & String Ensemble

Lee Anderson is the Director of Orchestras at Fairview High School and Southern Hills Middle School in Boulder, CO. Since arriving at Fairview in 2021, his orchestras at every level have achieved success on the state and national stage. Under his baton, the Fairview Chamber Orchestra won 3rd Place at the 2024 ASTA National Orchestra Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. He also conducted the Fairview Chamber Orchestra at the 2023 Colorado Music Educator Association conference, and all his orchestras have received Superior ratings at CASTA Regional and State Festivals. He takes great pride in programming diverse literature for his ensembles from underrepresented and living composers.

In addition to teaching, Lee keeps an active performing schedule as a professional violist. He performs regularly in the viola section of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and as Principal Viola of the Boulder Symphony Orchestra.

Lee received a Bachelor of Music Education, Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance, and Master of Music in Viola Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where his principal instructors were Stephen Wyrczynski, Ed Gazouleas, and Brenda Brenner. When not in the orchestra classroom or on the performance stage, he enjoys hiking, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his wife Aspen, their dog Max, and their cat, Clara.
