Dear DYAO Family,
Due to recent reports on the status and spread of COVID-19 in Colorado and out of concern for our DYAO community, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, DYAO has made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend DYAO orchestra rehearsals during the period of March 13-March 30, 2020. DYAO remains committed to the health and safety of our students, staff, and families and this decision does not come lightly. The choice to pause the season is a difficult one and we truly appreciate your understanding as our organization continues to work through these impacts. We were also notified in the last 24 hours that Denver area schools and venues like the Newman Center and Bethany Lutheran will not be open for the next several weeks.
During this period, we will continue to evaluate the impact and response to COVID-19 on DYAO operations. We anticipate that our spring concerts will happen, however, the concerts may be adjusted as needed. We will know more as the end of March approaches.
Additionally, to help our planning and our community, we are asking that anyone traveling during their Spring Break activities to notify us as we continue to develop internal policies. In particular, please let us know if you are traveling by cruise or to an international destination.
