Artist Statement

"A family of birds
has moved into
the abandoned house
at the edge of town.

Now the house
is alive with music."¬Ý

Reed Philip Weimer is a painter, printmaker and draftsman living in Denver, Colorado. A founder of the city’Äôs vital north side art co-op scene, he has been exhibiting his work in the Western States for over 30 years. His family settled in Taos in the 1860s and became art patrons early in the developing years of the Taos Art Colony. Growing up in an environment of creativity and support for the arts reinforced his artistic sensibilities. He received a BFA from Colorado State University, and went on to teach art for many years in public schools throughout Colorado, as well as at the Art Students League of Denver. Reed’Äôs work can be found in many private and public collections including the Denver Art Museum, the City of Brighton, Qwest Corporation, Dex and Kaiser Permanente. He is represented in Taos by 203 Fine Arts.
