Artist Statement

"The finest dances are accompanied by the "night fiddle,"
in the midnight garden under a silvery moon."

Patricia Rucker has moved to Colorado, after graduating from Kansas State University to become an art educator. In 1997 she was named Middle School Art Educator for the state of Colorado. Her passion for art and education has continued after retiring from the Jefferson County Public Schools. She has been the Art Education Coordinator for Metropolitan State College in Denver, an instructor at Arapahoe Community College and currently teaches a "Creative Concepts" class at Foothills Art Center in Golden. Pat created many art quilts before returning to painting. Her work is experimental, expressionistic, created with mixed water media and is reminiscent of the fiber arts. She paints in her studio in her home overlooking the foothills and Golden Colorado. Her latest series is focused on a "night" theme . . . Night Writing, Under the Silvery Moon, Autumn Dance and Technology Nightmare are among her favorite paintings. One of her dreams is to create an "evening garden" with night blooming flowers.
