Artist Statement

A violin collaged with candy and coffee wrappers, sudoku puzzles, and painted fibonacci numbers. Some of my obsessions.

The ratio of each successive pair of numbers in the fibonacci series has the ratio of 1.618... which in mathematics is called "phi". This numeric sequence is related to musical scales and harmonics, so seemed a good way to combine my artistic skills with my violin.
