There is a synergy in the way we speak about music and wine. The wine has notes of cherry or apple, we refer to the complexity of the composition and the vintage. We enjoy both in quiet, contemplative moments and in social situations. There is poetryin the best of both. And finally, all the best music and wine were new at one time. Both say something about the passage of time.
Marin Dobson has won awards and received national recognition for her distinctive oil paintings of the natural landscape. Her oil paintings have been juried into prestigious national shows in New York, California, Arizona and New Mexico including the Oil Painters of America National and Regional Shows and the American Women Artists National Show to name a few. Ms. Dobson was also featured in Southwest Art Magazine in 2003. Ms. Dobson paints primarily "alla prima" and "en plein air" which reflects her training in Russian impressionism and classical painting technique. Locally, she is represented by Abend Gallery and Artists on Santa Fe Gallery in Denver. Additionally, her work is displayed in galleries throughout Colorado, Florida and Rhode Island.
