Color Harmony #1 is a composition in 20th Century abstract expressionism. Intense red and orange variations dance with blue and green forms in the artist's style of the Fauve painters of France.
Rita Derjue has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MA from Cornell University. She is an accomplished US painter, her works are shown in 5 museum collections and she has appeared in more than 100 group shows; 50 solo exhibitions. She has won numerous awards and has been published in several books; and numerous magazine articles. The Littleton Museum showed 100 paintings in a solo show in 2005.
