
DYAO
DYAO, the most advanced of our ensembles, performs four to six concerts annually, including one side-by-side concert with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Concerts are performed at Boettcher Concert Hall and Gates Concert Hall. The 2010-2011 season repertoire included Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World,” Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet Suite No. 2, and Sibelius' Symphony No. 2. Featured soloists for the season included pianist, Katie Mahan, soprano, Kara Guggenmos, and, guitarist, Ricardo Iznaola.
Placement in DYAO is determined by audition. Membership is open to musicians between the ages of 12 and 23. Composed of approximately 90 members, DYAO rehearses Saturday mornings from 9:00am-1:00pm at the
Conservatory Orchestra (North/South)
The Conservatory Orchestra is an advanced level ensemble for students who aspire to grow into DYAO. The Conservatory Orchestra performs three concerts annually in conjunction with the String Ensemble. Next season's performances will take place at

String Ensemble (North/South)
The String Ensemble gives young music students an opportunity to experience the great wealth of string orchestra literature. The ensemble is designed for those who have developed facility in bowing techniques, reading music, and using vibrato. The student’s current level should be the end of Suzuki book 4 through 6 (3-5 for violists). Composed of approximately 25 members, the String Ensemble performs three concerts in conjunction with the Conservatory Orchestra.
Placement in the String Ensemble is determined by audition and membership is open to musicians between the ages of 8 and 13. The String Ensemble is conducted by Javan Carson. String Ensemble (South) rehearses Monday evenings from 5:30pm-6:45pm at
